Does Body Sculpture Work? PDF Print E-mail

Question & Answer

Question: I am curious about creams and lotions that claim to reduce fat and cellulite. I have recently developed dimpling on my thighs and am very unhappy about it. I recently read an article that mentioned Body Sculpture Cream as a way to reduce fat cells and smooth skin on the thighs and butt. I am skeptical about its effectiveness. Is there any proof as to the effectiveness of this cream? Is it worth trying?

Body SculptureAnswer: Body Sculpture Cream is a product that claims to reduce fat and cellulite in users as well as decreasing inches from problem areas. The product cites caffeine, liposomes, and alpha hydroxy acids as the active ingredients that target and reduce the size of fat cells as well as smoothing the appearance of uneven skin tone. The product also claims to increase the metabolism in order to burn fat naturally.

Although the website claims that in a "scientific, double blind, placebo-controlled research study" those using Body Sculpture saw dramatic inch-reduction from treated areas, there is no mention of who the researchers were or where their independent results can be found. There has been unrelated research that shows that alpha hydroxy can lead to smoother skin appearance and that caffeine can reduce swelling, however, there is no mention of the amount of these ingredients contained in the product. The website advises consumers to consult a doctor before using this product.

Francis Peterson, our respected beauty expert, did a fantastic review on anti-cellulite creams and their actual effectiveness in a recent feature, the results are quite surprising.
