Know in brief about your digestive system

The well-being of your depends on what you consume, when you eat, in what manner you eat, fluid intake and how well your food is absorbed? We absorb everything we need to sustain for life through our lungs, digestive system and skin. A robust digestive system is central to our well-being, tirelessly extracting the energy and nutrients we necessitate from the food we gobble. It is fundamental that we are aware of defending our digestive system.

We gulp down many negative things that upset our well-being. Junk food, too little or poor quality fluids, pollution, alcohol, tobacco and other smoke and stress, all effect the effectiveness of the digestive system. When our digestive system is not working at it’s best, the rest of the body suffers. Nearly all the nutrients we call for come from the food and drink we consume. Some things that affect the digestive system and our health are:

Meager diet that is lacking in fruits and vegetables and has excess intake of sugar and saturated fats.

  • Consuming when stressed out or irritated.
  • Unbalanced eating, skipped meals.
  • Eating just before at bed time.
  • Eating too fast, not chewing foods properly.
  • Deficient in fibre.
  • Lack of eco friendly bacteria.
  • Lack of gastric juices in the stomach.
  • Need of digestive enzyme.
  • Drinking less than 2 liters of water in a day.

Processed foods, refined sugars, junk food and flour products are more complex to digest and do not supply superior nutrition to the body. Ensure that natural whole foods and fresh products provide most of your daily food intake. These help your digestive system to work as it should.

When you are in stressed condition the chemicals in your body change. This directly effects the digestive system. Food is not properly digested and you absorb fewer nutrients. Try to be relaxed when you sit down to eat. Concentrate on what you are doing and enjoy the food you are eating.

Water helps to rid waste from the body. Kidneys cannot function efficiently without ample water. When they do not work up to the mark, some of the load is dumped onto the liver. When the liver has to do some of the kidney’s work it cannot do it’s own energizing function. Lack of water can also result in constipation. When the body gets the water it needs to function optimally, its fluids are perfectly balanced.
