La Mer Eye Concentrate Overview
The La Mer skincare line is extremely popular to women of all ages. However it has launched products that cater to the needs of women of a certain age. As we get older, certain things are bound to pop up, things that weren’t even there before. Wrinkles, age spots and dark circles under the eyes can and will make you look eons older that you actually are. Anti-aging creams and eye creams are all the rage nowadays because not only do they promise to lessen the appearance of these pesky age indicators, but they also lessen the chances of getting them in the future, making these products appealing to the younger set as well.
The La Mer Eye Concentrate is a luxurious product made to make dark circles, puffiness and skin discoloration, as well as unevenness disappear. It also promises to make your wrinkles and lines smoother and hopefully disappear over time. By dabbing a small amount unto its applicator and applying it to the eye area every morning and evening, you can finally get the supple and youthful eye area that you so want to have.
The main ingredients of the La Mer eye concentrate are hematite which is known to attract blood which cause the circulation of blood in the eye area. Another important ingredient to this product is seaweed extract. I know it sounds kind of weird but seaweed extract actually contains natural antioxidants and amino acids which is deters the aging process. Lethicin is also in the product, this rehydrates your eye area by giving it enough moisture. Natural antioxidants such as alfalfa and sun flower can also be found in the eye concentrate.
What about the Effectiveness of the Other Ingredients?
It is important to breakdown the ingredients of this product and to discuss them one by one just to make sure that the components that make up the whole are not only effective but also safe to use.
Hematite, as was mentioned is known to attract blood which circulates around the eye area. This will automatically sound appealing to women but blood circulation will make your skin look supple, youthful and minimizes the chances of your under eye areas darkening however, Dr. Leslie Baumann, a cosmetic dermatologist, is doubtful as to this claim. She claims that the cause of these under eye circles are still unknown. It may even be related to excess melanin production which means that any amount of blood circulating in your under eye area will not lighten the excess melanin on it. The claim on the seaweed extracts eliminating wrinkles are also unsubstantiated and no study has found this to be 100% true.
What makes La Mer Eye Concentrate Effective?
The good news is, the natural antioxidants found in the La Mer eye concentrate were found to be effective and aids the skin in responding quicker to the product. Lethicin, being a natural moisturizer, has also been found to rehydrate the skin well when paired with other natural vitamins such as vitamin E and C. It was found that the skin repaired itself quicker with the combination of these natural moisturizers and antioxidants.
La Mer Eye Concentrate Reviews
The La Mer Eye Concentrate has been received with mixed reviews. A lot of women who swear by the original La Mere cream were the ones who were the most excited about this eye concentrate but were quickly disappointed by this product.
The positive reviews about this product usually say that the La Mer Eye Concentrate was excellent in moisturizing the under eye area. It felt luxurious and glided beautifully on the skin. However, this is not what the product was made for now is it?
The negative reviews usually have qualms about the expensive pricing. And although the La Mer eye concentrate does do and extremely stand up job as a moisturizer, as an eye concentrate it, sadly, disappoints, as an eye cream. It failed to make dark circles, puffiness and skin discoloration, as well as unevenness disappear. It also failed to make your wrinkles and lines smoother and hopefully disappear over time. Some women also found that this product made their eye region sting and some even contracted brown rash from using it.
La Mer Eye Concentrate Vs Eye Balm
Both products actually contain ingredients such as the original Miracle Broth, the Marine DePuff Ferment and the Lifting Ferment. These ingredients moisturizes your under eye area, rejuvenates skin, decreases the puffiness and aids in the production of elastin. The number one consideration should be whether or not you already have these problems or not. The eye balm is better used when you are younger and want to avoid having these problems in the future. The eye concentrate on the other hand promises to fight these problems when they are already at hand.
La Mer Eye Concentrate Price
The La Mer Eye concentrate, just like most La Mer products, is on the expensive side. This product will set you back a hefty $185.
The La Mer Eye concentrate will not get you a bang for your buck. It is better to opt for the original La Mer moisturizer and just getting a cheaper and more effective eye cream. There are other products that cover all the bases price and effectivity wise.
