Question: I have heard of products that claim to tighten or firm muscles using a cream or gel formula. I was told that a product called Plushas a pretty good formula for helping slim and shapes my trouble areas. I am skeptical of how these work and am afraid that they are messy and sticky. Is Ab-Solution Plus a good investment or am I wasting my time?
Answer: Topical weight loss and firming creams have often been at the center of discussion regarding their validity and effectiveness. Ab-Solution Plus is a product that claims to firm and slim muscles using a topical cream. The website lists aminopylline, caffeine, yohimbe, usnic acid, and forskoline as the effective ingredients in this product. The site claims that users will see results in just a few days with proper application (twice a day to problem areas) and that the active ingredients are delivered through many channels in the skin to affect the subcutaneous fat under the skin. This product can be used on thighs, abs, arms, and gluts and is reported to be odorless, colorless, and non-sticky. It also claims to be able to reduce cellulite.
Although the product claims to target and dissolve fat cells under the skin using active ingredients, the research done on similar products as Ab-Solution Plus is that topical creams can do very little to effect the body’s fat levels and compositions. Also, there is no ingredient list shown on the website or specific quantities of the active ingredients. Although Caffeine has been shown to temporarily firm skin, there is no independent clinical research that shows that any of the ingredients listed in Ab-Solution Plus can permanently affect weightless or reduction of cellulite.
